NFL Combine 2023: Schedule, Dates, Channel & Workout

The NFL Combine was almost back to normal last year, and it will be in full swing in 2023.

Before the NFL Draft in April, hundreds of draught hopefuls will converge on Indianapolis for physicals, medical exams, and interviews in an effort to leave a lasting impression on scouts and general managers.

There is little question that some prospects will see their value improve while others will see it fall as a result of their performance in Indianapolis, despite the fact that the relevance of the Scouting Combine’s several tests has been hotly contested for years.

Live coverage of the NFL Scouting Combine begins on March 2 at 3 p.m. ET on NFL Network. Draft aspirants will get the chance to show off their athleticism with positional drills and interviews with potential clubs throughout the week in order to boost their status as much as possible before the NFL Draft starts on April 28. Below is a schedule of the many drills that each position group will perform during the combine.

NFL Combine workout times

The NFL put combine drills into a prime-time slot in recent years, but the league has moved the schedule earlier in the day this year.

While drills will take a few hours to complete, the first two days of on-field action will begin at 3 p.m. ET, while the defensive linemen, linebackers, and defensive backs will all start 1 p.m. ET over the weekend.

Below is the complete TV schedule for on-field workouts and drills at the 2023 NFL Combine.

NFL Combine drills

The 40-yard dash is the premier event of the NFL Scouting Combine, but it’s only one of six drills that teams consider and doesn’t account for the same skills that other drills do.

The six drills are below.

  • 40-yard dash
  • Three-cone drill
  • Bench press
  • 20-yard shuttle
  • Vertical jump
  • Broad jump

While the 20-yard shuttle and three-cone drill require candidates to cut and sprint in various directions, the 40-yard dash measures a prospect’s speed when racing straight.

The bench press is the strongest indicator of raw strength in the combine, whereas the broad jump and vertical leap take into consideration both agility and leg strength.
