NFL and MLB Set to Make US Sports History on Thursday Night Involving the Philadelphia and Houston-Based Franchises
The NFL and Major League Baseball are set to have a historic night of television sports on Thursday. The Philadelphia Phillies began their incredible playoff journey, which has led to their World Series matchup against the Houston Astros in Philadelphia for Game 5. Due to the postponement of Game 3, both the Eagles-Texans and Astros-Phillies games are taking place on the same night and time. While this may cause some inconveniences for fans who would like not to split their loyalty, it is more sports nirvana in Philadelphia.
In the 16-year history of “Thursday Night Football,” according to Amazon Prime Video, this is the first time that teams from the same rival cities are competing on TNF and in the World Series on the same night.

The Texans want to cycle the Astros score on the side panels of the television screens during the game since they are aware that their crowd is hungry for baseball. Game 5 will be broadcast on more than 50% of the televisions in the stadium that would typically be showing other NFL games.
Thursday will be a fun one.

On Thursday, the Texans will appear on the big screen to deliver World Series score and big-play updates instead of the team’s customary NFL scoreboard. The initial World Series schedule was devised by MLB management to avoid direct viewer rivalry with live NFL games. However, the cancellation of Game 3 caused MLB to add an extra day to the Fall Classic game schedule.
