The formal announcement of the 272-game schedule will take place Thursday at 8 p.m. on ESPN2, NFL Network, NFL+, the NFL app, and YouTube.

On Thursday morning, many games will be unveiled by NBC on the “Today Show” and by ABC on “Good Morning America.” On its 4 p.m. broadcast, “NFL Live” on ESPN will reveal one “Monday Night Football” game.

The “NFL Live” team, which includes Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky, former NFL defensive lineman Marcus Spears, Mina Kimes, and insider Field Yates, will host ESPN2’s program on Thursday night.

The Lions play a schedule for second place after placing second in the NFC North in 2022 with a 9-8 record and eight victories in their final ten games. This boosts their strength of schedule because they will only face the second-place club in three cross-divisional games in 2023: at Seattle Seahawks (9-8, second in NFC West), at Dallas Cowboys (12-5, second in NFC East), and at Baltimore Ravens (10-7, second in AFC North).

The NFC North teams face each other twice as well as the NFC South and AFC West teams.
