NFL 2022 Sack Leader Odds, Picks and Predictions: TJ Watt, 2021 Sack Leader, Not the Top Favorite
The fact that sacks happen more frequently than interceptions and fumbles makes them such a crucial statistic. We have witnessed a number of individual defensive efforts over the years. TJ Watt, a brilliant defensive end for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, came perilously close to shattering Michael Strahan’s single-season sack record.
However, Watt didn’t need 17 games to tie the record that had stood for 21 years. Due to an injury, he missed two games and sat out most of a third.
TJ Watt was also chosen as Pittsburgh’s team MVP for a third straight season, becoming him the first player to accomplish the feat, and in Week 15 he passed his rival for most sacks in a single season.

Here are BetMGM’s preseason odds and our top three picks for who will lead the NFL in sacks in 2022:
Myles Garrett | +650 |
T.J. Watt | +700 |
Aaron Donald | +1200 |
Trey Hendrickson | +1200 |

Joey Bosa | +1400 |
Danielle Hunter | +1400 |
Chandler Jones | +1600 |
Khalil Mack | +1600 |
Maxx Crosby | +1800 |
One of the top defensive players in the NFL, particularly among pass rushers, is Myles Garrett. In each of his previous four seasons, he collected 10 or more sacks. Over the first 68 games of his career, he also collected 58.5 sacks. On the edge of the Cleveland Browns’ defense, he is a persistent and powerful force. Given that he is only 26 years old, his future is quite promising.
It’s true. @_TJWatt is really good.
