NFL 2022-23 season: Week 3 Top advice, best fantasy picks and predictions
Daily fantasy is here to save the day if you’re 0-2 and beginning to lose heart in your season-long fantasy football leagues. Our Week 3 lineup picks, which include a high-floor stack, high-volume RBs, some boom-or-bust WRs, and a major value sleeper who might provide us some distinction, are provided to assist you to start recouping some of your entrance fees.
However, our D/ST is from one of those games, so let’s hope for a defensive touchdown because we are taking on three of the four games with original over/under the north of 50. Additionally, we are game-stacking our running backs but primarily based on value.
Here are the most important score guidelines for competitions before we break down each of our selections: Full-point PPR, four-point passing touchdowns, and three-point bonuses for 100-yard rushes, 100-yard receptions, and 300-yard passes.
NFL DFS lineup for Week 3 Picks GPP tournaments
Kirk Cousins, Vikings at Lions, quarterback ($6,700). The Lions have shown some promise as a pass-rushing team, but they have had trouble stopping both ordinary quarterbacks Jalen Hurts and Carson Wentz. With Cousins’ go-to receiver Justin Jefferson a part of this stack and the 273.5 passing yards per game that Detroit allows, we should be dancing in points all afternoon.
Bears against. Texans, RB David Montgomery ($5,900). Despite all the finger-pointing over his lackluster Week 1 performance, in which Khalil Herbert outperformed him, Montgomery rebounded with a terrific effort on Sunday night and still garnered 20 touches. With the Texans’ 29th-ranked run defense to town, Montgomery is a volume lock, and we have our sights set on that 100-yard bonus.
Bears at. Texans: RB Dameon Pierce ($5,000). Despite receiving all 15 of Houston’s RB carries last week, Pierce is a bit of a risk in DK’s full-point PPR system but is surprisingly cheap. We believe Pierce can make some progress and into the end zone for the first time in his career given that the Bears were gashed by Green Bay’s running backs in Week 2 and had problems with Elijah Mitchell on a slick track in Week 1 before his injury. Let’s hope Chicago this weekend sees a total of 25 passes.
Justin Jefferson, WR, against the Lions, and Vikings ($9,300). Evidently, yes? When it comes to dependability, Jefferson is Cooper Kupp’s 1B to Kupp’s 1A, so we have to pay up for the chalk when playing the Lions’ 28th-ranked pass defense.
Cardinals at. Rams, WR Marquise Brown ($6,000). Even though Greg Dortch is making a name for himself and Brown is coming off an 11-target performance, it’s obvious that Hollywood is the #1 WR option for Arizona. Although Brown can move about and play in the slot, which means Jalen Ramsey may be present frequently, we don’t anticipate Ramsey to follow Brown around. He’s always a good bet for a big play, and at this price, we’ll take our chances on the 100-yard bonus in what could be a high-scoring game.
Standard Rankings for Week 3
Rams vs. Cardinals, WR Allen Robinson II ($5,700). With an early O/U of 50.5, this game looks to be a shootout. While we’d prefer other Rams players (read: Cooper Kupp, Tyler Higbee), it’s difficult to afford them with Jefferson already in the lineup. Robinson caught four passes for 53 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 a goodly consolation reward. He ought to have scored again, but the play was stopped as the ball was in the air and Robinson was standing in the end zone with plenty of room to run. In any case, he is unquestionably a part of the Rams’ offense and should be kept busy against a weak pass defense from the Cardinals.
Jaguars Versus Chargers, TE Evan Engram ($3,700). Despite Engram’s lack of production this season, he has been more regularly involved than many other tight ends with 12 targets and 11 catches in two games. We cannot determine whether this is a favorable or unfavorable matchup because the Chargers have already played Darren Waller and Travis Kelce this season and have performed admirably against both. However, we are aware that Engram will have opportunities, and given his price, he ought to be able to deliver.
Rankings for Week 3 PPR
FLEX Saints against. Panthers: Chris Olave ($4,500). Here is a special boom-or-bust tournament offer. Olave only caught five of the thirteen targets he was given last week, but the latter figure is more significant. He’s a part of the Saints’ offense, and it feels like only a matter of time before he experiences a breakthrough moment like Garrett Wilson, a former college teammate, had last week. On paper, the Panthers appear to be strong against the pass (second-fewest yards allowed per game) but bear in mind that they have faced the Browns and Giants, two of the NFL’s worst passing units. With this selection, we’re betting on low ownership and distinctive hope it connects!
Commanders vs. DEF Eagles ($2,900). “Revenge Game” against Carson Wentz, a turnover machine? Although we would have preferred that this game be played in Philly, the matchup, story, and pricing are just too compelling to pass up.
