NFL 2022-23 season: Week 3 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em and best choices for QBs, TEs and WRs
Start your quarterbacks for Week 3 of fantasy football
QB must make starts
Bills, Josh Allen (at MIA)
Eagles Jalen Hurts (at WAS)
Chargers’ Justin Herbert (if he plays, vs. JAX)
Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes (at IND)
Lamar Jackson, Ravens (at NE)
Bengals’ Joe Burrow (at NYJ)
Cardinals’ Kyler Murray (vs. LAR)
Stronger starts
Vikings’ Kirk Cousins (vs. DET). Week 2’s game against the Eagles in prime time was a nightmare for Cousins, but he should have a huge turnaround against a weak pass defence at home in the afternoon.
Rams’ Matthew Stafford (at ARI). The Cardinals slightly outperformed themselves against the Raiders, but they are still a porous defense overall and lack solutions for Stafford’s top targets.
Raiders’ Derek Carr (at TEN). It has been much harsher than anticipated in a passing game with more upside, but he will play his finest game to date against a defence that is in disorder.
Wentz, Carson, and Commanders (vs. PHI). With his numerous weapons spread out over the field, he is feeling it in their offense and will produce with even more high volume in a vengeance game against Jalen Hurts.
Lions’ Jared Goff (at MIN). He should perform admirably once more in a high-scoring contest with Kirk Cousins.
Fantasy Football Week 3 Start ‘Em: Running backs
Must-starts for RB
Colts’ Jonathan Taylor (vs. KC)
Vikings, Dalvin Cook (vs. DET)
Browns’ Nick Chubb (vs. PIT)
Bengals’ Joe Mixon (at NYJ)
Titans Derrick Henry (vs. LV)
Chargers’ Austin Ekeler (vs. JAX)
Giants’ Saquon Barkley (vs. DAL)
Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey (vs. NO)
Lions’ D’Andre Swift (at MIN)
Buccaneers’ Leonard Fournette (vs. GB)
Steelers’ Najee Harris (at CLE)
Commanders, Antonio Gibson (vs. PHI)
Jones, Aaron, a Packers (at TB)
Saints Alvin Kamara (if he returns, at CAR)
Cardinals, James Conner (if he plays, vs. LAR)
Broncos’ Javonte Williams (vs. SF)
Jaguars, James Robinson (at LAC)
David Montgomery, Bears (vs. HOU)
Hunt, Kareem, Browns (vs. PIT)
Dillon, AJ, Packers (at TB)
Stronger starts
Chiefs Clyde Edwards-Helaire (at IND). Currently, CEH is receiving just the right amount of volume in comparison to their other backs to serve as a solid weekly RB2.
Falcons’ Cordarrelle Patterson (at SEA). In a favourable game script against a shaky defence, Patterson ought to succeed in maintaining his customary lead position.
49ers Jeff Wilson Jr. (at DEN). The fact that Elijah Mitchell (knee) and Tyrion Davis-Price (ankle) have joined Lance (ankle) and Deebo (knee) on the injured list makes him even more of a man. The Broncos’ run defense is weak.
Eagles’ Miles Sanders (vs. WAS). Defensively, the Commanders are crumbling all over the place, and Sanders will deliver another RB2 performance.
Cowboys Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard (at NYG). Despite keeping Henry in check, the Giants didn’t appear strong against CMC. Dallas will make an effort to win via running.
Texans Dameon Pierce (at CHI). Pierce’s breakout performance against the Bears will be made possible by the Denver correction of his volume.
Jets’ Breece Hall (vs. CIN). Michael Carter quickly lost steam, and Hall will resume his ascent to the position as the most promising rookie RB2.
Fantasy Football Week 3 Start ‘Em: Wide receivers
Must-starts for WR
Rams Cooper Kupp (at ARI)
Vikings, Justin Jefferson (vs. DET)
Bills, Stefon Diggs (vs. TEN)
Raiders’ Davante Adams (vs. ARI)
Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase (at NYJ)
Brown, A.J., Eagles (vs. WAS)
Dolphins, Tyreek Hill (vs. BUF)
49ers Deebo Samuel (at DEN)
Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown (vs. WAS)
Mike Williams LA Chargers (vs. JAX)
Broncos’ Courtland Sutton (vs. SF)
Dolphins’ Jaylen Waddle (at BUF)
Colts Michael Pittman Jr. (if he returns, vs. KC)
Saints Michael Thomas (at CAR)
Bengals’ Tee Higgins (at NYJ)
Allen, Keenan, Chargers (if he returns, vs. JAX)
Ravens’ Rashod Bateman (at NE)
Bills, Gabriel Davis (if he returns, vs. TEN)
Jaguars, Christian Kirk (vs. LAC)
Terry McLaurin, Commanders (vs. PHI)
Moore, D.J., Panthers (vs. NO)
Texans Brandin Cooks (at CHI)
Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb (at NYG)
Steelers’ Diontae Johnson (at CLE)
Stronger starts
London, Drake, and Falcons (at SEA). London is performing like the No. 1 they anticipated, and the matchup is lovely.
49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk (at DEN). Aiyuk is heating up again like the summer and will have a fine outing with Pat Surtain hurting.
Rams Allen Robinson (at ARI). Robinson scores once more while playing off Kupp in a prime location.
Commanders Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson (vs. PHI). Playing off Terry McLaurin while remaining on the wave while aware of Wentz’s increased enormous volume.
Cooper, Amari; Browns (vs. PIT). He reclaimed his position as No. 1, and despite Jacoby Brissett’s limited passing, he remains the best and only option.
Hunter Renfrow, Raiders (if he plays, at TEN). He can bounce back after getting hurt and coughing up the game in Week 2 and the Titans can struggle with the slot.
Eagles DeVonta Smith (at WAS). In Week 2, Smith, who was playing off A.J. cannot be covered by the Commanders and Brown.
Jets Garrett Wilson (vs. CIN). In order to distinguish himself as the incoming No. 1, Wilson is living up to his first-round skill.
Titans Treylon Burks (vs. LV). This secondary can be consumed by Burks when Nate Hobbs is away.
Fantasy Football Week 3 Start ‘Em: Tight ends
Must-start TE
Chiefs’ Travis Kelce (at IND)
Ravens’ Mark Andrews (vs. NE)
Raiders’ Darren Waller (at TEN)
Falcons’ Kyle Pitts (at SEA)
49ers George Kittle (if he returns, at DEN)
Eagles Dallas Goedert (at WAS)
Stronger starts
Steelers Pat Freiermuth (at CLE). Freiermuth’s worth remains high thanks to Mitchell Trubisky until they replace the quarterback.
Cardinals’ Zach Ertz (vs. LAR). Given how the Rams cover the position, this isn’t the ideal matchup, but this recommendation is solely based on volume.
Rams’ Tyler Higbee (vs. ARI). Higbee can act like Travis Kelce and Darren Waller for one week as the Cardinals continue to struggle against tight ends.
Bills, Dawson, Knox (at MIA). Given the Dolphins’ cornerbacks and the potential for Gabe Davis’ (ankle) extended absence, he can receive more work inside.
Chargers’ Gerald Everett (vs. JAX). He has been reliable thus far with his new offense, and he can continue that in this game.
Fantasy Football Week 3 Start ‘Em: Defenses
Defense must-starts
Cowboys (at NYG)
Browns (vs. PIT)
Bills (at MIA)
Ravens (vs. NE)
Chargers (vs. LAC)
Bengals (at NYJ)
49ers (at DEN)
Rams (at ARI)
Stronger starts
Saints (at CAR). They still have a good appearance, and Baker Mayfield is prone to errors.
Steelers (at CLE). No. In contrast to Brissett, they still have a sizable number of playmakers. T.J. Watt.
Buccaneers (vs. GB). They are able to restrain and annoy the MVP.
Packers (at TB). They are able to restrain and aggravate the GOAT.
Bears (vs. HOU). On the road, Davis Mills is typically much more empathetic.
Eagles (at WAS). Wentz can score points, but he also has a tendency to make crucial errors.
