New York Yankees Top Prospects 2024: Jasson Dominguez Taking The Top Spot
Now that Major League Baseball’s summer has begun, thoughts are turning to the future for everyone. That indicates the upcoming season in most places; for others, however, it refers to the longer term, the following three to five years. As they say, you’re either selling victories or you’re selling hope. At this time of year, we want to give as much optimism as we can, thus today we are recognizing the Top Yankees Prospects after analyzing each team’s farm system.
will be looking at the top three prospects in each organization over the course of the next few months. Since we define “prospects” as those who will still be eligible to play as rookies in 2024, it is likely the case that a young player is absent.

Let’s get to it: our Yankees Top Prospect list.
New York Yankees Top Prospects 2024
1. Jasson Domínguez
Dominguez, nicknamed “The Martian,” was a highly anticipated talent on the global scene for the past 10 years. However, he was wrongly compared to superstars such as Mike Trout, Bo Jackson, and Mickey Mantle. Nobody can match those kinds of comparisons, but if we do say so ourselves, Dominguez has been pretty damn good.
After that, he had Tommy John surgery, which will cause his 2024 campaign to begin later than expected. To his credit, Domínguez has shown a number of important skills recently, such as being aware of the striking zone. Additionally, he has the ability to consistently make strong contact with right-handed pitchers.

following a productive Double-A campaign in 2023 during which he slashed and hit 15 home runs. Before making his Major League debut, Dominguez spent just nine games dominating in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, slashing 254/.367/.414 with 37 stolen bases.
The Martian, who sadly tore his UCL, had the most spectacular debut of any player, hitting four home runs in eight games.
Even though Dominguez’s physique changed size in the early stages of his career, the speed stayed constant. In 2023, he made 41 of 49 attempts to steal bases and improved his leaps.

Dominguez possesses incredible strength and quickness as an athlete. The potential for this profile is infinite, provided that the contact improvements continue until 2024 and the power returns following UCL repair.
That combination may restrict his average even if he may still develop into a reliable big-league player thanks to his on-base and slugging skills.
2. Spencer Jones
At 6’7″ and 225 pounds, Jones is a man among boys when he comes off the bus. Like any major baseball player, he frequently gets compared to Aaron Judge. Although he was a two-way player at Vanderbilt, Tommy John surgery prevented him from playing for the most of 2022. Jones shown talents all across the field when he returned for his draft year in 2022, landing him in the first round of selections that summer.

As one might anticipate from a frame that big, the power comes easily, but there is considerable swing and miss due to the lengthy limbs. With an average exit velocity of 94 mph, he is among the minor leagues’ greatest hitters only based on exit velocity. Surprisingly, he managed just 16 home runs, mainly due to a ground ball north of 47 percent.
Jones’s contact rate improved all season as he posted a 68 percent clip through June 15, which was 236 plate appearances. The number continued to rise all season as Jones finished the second half with a 75 percent contact rate, a notable jump.
If all clicks for Jones, there is a stud fantasy player in the profile. Given his stock dropping some publicly in 2023, it may be a great time to buy in dynasty leagues.

3. Everson Pereira
Pereira is not the most physically intimidating player on the field, but he can hit a lot of power. Last year, he posted a peak velocity above 115 and a 90th percentile exit velocity of 109, placing him among the best in the Majors.
Splitting his 2023 Minor League season between Double-A and Triple-A, Pereira finished with a slash line of.300/.373/.548 that included 18 home runs and 11 steals. After earning a call-up to the Major Leagues, he appeared in 103 plate appearances and nearly surpassed his eligibility as a prospect.

There are certainly many positive aspects of Periera’s long-term profile, even though the MLB sample was not very noteworthy.
4. Roderick Arias
Admittedly, this is a very early and aggressive rating based just on performance history. Arias still has the potential to rise quickly in the rankings. In January 2022, the Dominican Republic native signed a $4 million contract with the Yankees.
After that, he had wrist and hand ailments over the previous two years, but in 27 complex-league games, he hit.267/.423/.505 with six home runs. Arias is a switch-hitter with a powerful arm, quick set of wheels, and considerable upside power. The sixth tool is health, which is also maybe the hardest to estimate. We’re willing to take a chance to add him on the list for the time being.

5. Chase Hampton
With 20 starts across High- and Double-A, Hampton struck out more than 12 hitters per nine innings last season, making him one of the biggest risers in the minor leagues. He possesses two breaking balls and a rising fastball in his developing repertoire.
If Hampton can’t repeat his release with consistency, his command may be suppressed by his extraordinarily lengthy arm motion. It hasn’t mattered yet, and he has sloppier geography than the average pitcher because of his ability to miss batters.
Chase Hampton (#4) received 5% of votes from MLB executives in a poll about which pitching prospect has the best pitchability and Will Warren (#8) received votes for the best secondary pitch according to https://t.co/WavNK3Hjkf pic.twitter.com/PaTakCyoTD

His curveball, which sits in the mid 70s and alters batters’ eye levels well, is a real 12-6. In 2023, Hampton also introduced a cutter with a brief break and a good velocity transition from slider to fastball. Although he does have a changeup in the upper 80s, he does not utilize it much.
Without a question, Hampton possesses a starting pitcher’s arsenal. Despite just tossing 100 innings total in college, he misses a lot of bats, throws a lot of strikes, and averages 5.4 innings per start. Hampton is a simple dynasty purchase.
