NBC Host Michael Barkann Rants Post Eagles Loss To Giants

The Philadelphia Eagles fell to the New York Giants 27-10 on Sunday to wrap up their regular season. Additionally, on NBC Sports Philadelphia’s postgame broadcast, Eagles Postgame Live, not a single encouraging word was spoken by Michael Barkann about the squad.

NBC Host Michael Barkann Rants Post Eagles Loss To Giants

The Eagles’ loss to New York on Sunday was their fifth in their previous six games. The good news is Philadelphia is still in the postseason, primarily because of a 10-1 start. However, it’s reasonable to say that, at least among those who watch and cover the club, there isn’t much optimism about how the postseason will unfold.

The Eagles are hobbling into their wild-card game against the Buccaneers in Tampa on Monday night after losing five of their last six regular-season games.

“If you thought last week was rock bottom, they have yet to hit rock bottom, as bad as this looks,” Barkann said as NBC showed the Eagles walking off the field. “You watched your Philadelphia Eagles today, losers 27-10, to the New York Giants, the pathetic New York Giants.

Barkann went on to criticize the team after pointing out that “Big Dom” DiSandro was accompanying Eagles coach Nick Sirianni to the locker room, citing this as “One positive for the game.”

“Other than that, they stunk — as they have for five of the last six weeks. Befuddled, without passion, without intensity, without extra effort, without want-to…Guess what, this is where it ends for the Philadelphia Eagles in the regular season. A loss to the New York Giants. A loss to Tampa Bay next week, it says right here. There’s nothing that they’re going to get fixed from this week from this week to next.”

The former MVP favorite and Super Bowl favorites appear to be no longer a danger to make it back to the Super Bowl, thus things are not looking good in Philadelphia.

The 49ers, Cowboys, and Seahawks are three good to outstanding teams that the Eagles have lost to in the previous six weeks; nevertheless, Philadelphia lost to the Cardinals at home and to the Giants away, both of whom missed the playoffs, and therefore fumbled away the division.

The Eagles, who have demolished the Giants in recent memory, trailed 24-0 at the half and did not even turn up for the game on Sunday.

In the end, the Eagles’ defeat on Sunday meant absolutely nothing. To secure the NFC East and the second seed in the league, Philadelphia needed to defeat the Dallas Cowboys in their game against the Washington Commanders. The Cowboys defeated the Commanders 38-10 in the end, despite briefly falling down 10-7 in the second quarter.

But the Eagles started their starters because they thought the game on Sunday may signify something. In addition to making the defeat appear even worse, it was also reported that receiver A.J. Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts both had game-ending injuries, while neither is thought to be very severe.
