NBA Training Camp: Top Unsigned Players Jeremy Lamb ,Hassan Whiteside,LaMarcus Aldridge , Blake Griffin

After a brisk start to NBA free agency, it abruptly came to a near stop as the basketball world awaited a resolution following Kevin Durant’s rumoured trade request from the Brooklyn Nets.

However, a few capable players are still unsigned and unsure of which team, if any, they will be contributing to this coming season. Their value as players has been diminished by injuries, ageing, and playing fewer minutes on teams with deep rosters in the past, but a number of teams still have time to take a risk on these unsigned players and sign them before the season begins.

Here is a short look at the top five Unsigned NBA free agents for 2022-

Jeremy Lamb

He has been limited by injuries, but he can still get some buckets off the bench when needed. Since getting hurt, he has had difficulty shooting, especially with his jump shot. Lamb will need to increase his effectiveness coming off the bench if he wants to be a reserve for the 2022–23 season.
Statistics for 2021–2022: 7.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.4 apg, 38.3 FG%, 32.4 3PT%
2020–2022 revenue: $10,500,000

Hassan Whiteside

Despite the fact that players with his skill set are less in demand in the current NBA, Whiteside’s biggest problem may be a crowded market. Whiteside joins the established big players like Tristan Thompson, DeMarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard, and LaMarcus Aldridge, who are still hunting for jobs. In recent seasons, Whiteside has adapted more easily to his reserve position.

2021/22 stats: 8.2 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 0.4 apg, 1.6 bpg, 65.2 FG%
2021/22 earnings: $2,401,537
Career earnings: $105,390,288

LaMarcus Aldridge

Aldridge played in just four more games and was forced to sit at the end of Steve Nash’s bench after recording 16 points and nine rebounds in a March 1 defeat to the Toronto Raptors when the Nets were without Kevin Durant (knee) and Kyrie Irving (vaccination requirement).

2021/22 stats: 12.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 0.9 apg, 1.0 bpg, 55.0 FG%, 30.4 3P%
2021/22 earnings:
$2,641,691
Career earnings: $215,090,968

Blake Griffin

From March 1 through the end of the season, Griffin only appeared in seven games. Nash has commended Griffin for keeping prepared, but after 13 seasons in the league, the athleticism and explosiveness that characterized his career aren’t there on a regular basis. Griffin struggled to even make the starting lineup for the final two months of the season, much like seasoned centre LaMarcus Aldridge.

He is not the athlete of his prime, but he can still do a bit of scoring and playmaking in a secondary role.

2021/22 stats: 6.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.9 apg, 42.5 FG%, 26.2 3PT%
2021/22 earnings: $2,641,691
Career earnings: $255,764,829
