NBA Trainer Rob McClanaghan Arrested On Rape & Drugging Charge

One of the most well-known figures in NBA training circles, Rob McClanaghan, is said to have been detained on Friday and charged with rape. McClanaghan was allegedly detained in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

In downtown Boston, McClanaghan, 43, is charged with drugging and raping a woman. On Thursday, Boston police carried out an investigation and obtained a warrant for McClanaghan. The following day, McClanaghan, who resides in Warwick, Rhode Island, was taken into custody. According to wcvb.com, he will apparently be arraigned in a Rhode Island court on Monday.

According to his website, McClanaghan has collaborated with a number of NBA stars. LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Stephen Curry, the MVP of the Golden State Warriors, are two of his greatest clients. Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, and Russell Westbrook are also mentioned by McClanaghan.

McClanaghan is not connected to the Boston Celtics, according to a statement the franchise released to wcvb.com. At Bishop Hendricken High School, McClanaghan reportedly collaborated with Celtics interim head coach Joe Mazzulla.

Following an alleged rape in Downtown Boston, McClanaghan was detained in Rhode Island on Friday, according to the police report.

A day after an arrest warrant was issued for him on rape and drugging for sexual activity allegations, he was taken into custody in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

In collaboration with the Warwick, Rhode Island Police Department, the Fugitive Unit of the Boston Police Department brought McClanaghan to safety. On Monday, he will be charged with being a fugitive from justice and arraigned in Kent County’s Third District Court.
