NBA Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers keen on signing Kevin Durant from Brooklyn Nets
The NBA 2022-23 regular season is in full swing, and so are the NBA trade rumors. As things stand, the Los Angeles Lakers want to bolster their squad in order to challenge for the title and are keen on bringing Kevin Durant to LA.
Darvin Ham’s side are currently struggling in 12th place on the Western Conference table with 11 wins and 16 defeats. They neither look like they are rebuilding nor competing for a title. But with the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, they need to focus on the latter.
The current formula for the Lakers doesn’t seem to work as the team is unable to conjure up a good string of performances and potentially get themselves out of a hole. Hence, they are looking at alternatives that can probably provide some much-needed boost for their squad. And therefore, they are looking to sign Kevin Durant.
“In the ultimate pie-in-the-sky scenario, the Lakers have interest in Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal if any of the three stars were to become available.”

Although the NBA trade rumors are simply rumors, they have a certain truth to them as well. Durant was clearly unhappy with the Brooklyn Nets in the offseason and requested a trade away from the team. However, he ended up staying with the Nets, who are currently 4th in the Eastern Conference standings with 17 wins and 12 defeats.
In all honesty, the Nets look like a team that are more organized than the Lakers. It wouldn’t make sense for Durant to jump ship anytime soon as he is also performing well at Brooklyn. This season, the 12-time All-Star is averaging a staggering 30 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.
However, the prospect of joining one of the biggest teams in the NBA, the Lakers, can also be alluring. If the Lakers are unable to get Durant, they will reportedly turn their attention to either Bradley Beal or Damian Lillard.
