NBA Star Michael Jordan’s Secret Tattoo: Where Is it & What Does It Mean?

One of the greatest players in NBA history is Michael Jordan. Not only was he extraordinarily gifted, but MJ still has a fascinating personality to this day. He is very different from the majority of league players.

MJ was unique in that he had less tattoos than the bulk of the league’s players, including LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, JR Smith, and Anthony Davis. He only has one tattoo, which is also mostly unknown to NBA fans.

Michael Jordan’s Secret Tattoo

Jordan is regarded as one of the all-time greats in basketball and has transcended the game as a result of his successful playing career with the Bulls.

The 60-year-old American superstar was an essential component of the Bulls’ famed trophy-laden run in each of his distinct stints with them.

With the Bulls, Jordan won six NBA championships and six NBA Finals MVP honours, an accomplishment that earned him “GOAT status” among players, coaches, and fans.

Jordan’s fiercely competitive nature off the court has also contributed to his legacy; he was not averse to risking large sums of money on friendly bets.

While Dennis Rodman, Jordan’s former Bulls colleague, was well recognized for his signature tattoo appearance on the court, few fans are aware that ‘MJ’ was also tattooed.

Former Bulls great Jordan has an omega horseshoe over his left breast, according to Sam Smith, the author of the 1991 book “The Jordan Rules.”

The legendary Bulls writer added that ‘MJ’ was always “a bit sensitive about” his “little known” tattoo.

There is just one image of “His Airness” in which this tattoo may be seen. A shirtless photo exists of him on the cover of Bob Greene’s Rebound: The Odyssey of Michael Jordan.

What Does The Tattoo Mean?

His dedication to the black fraternity Omega Psi Phi, which he joined as a student at the University of North Carolina, is symbolized by the tattoo.

The 14-time All-Star has been seen publicly making the fraternity’s distinctive “hooks” gesture. MJ was observed flashing the omega sign after winning the 1991 NBA Finals victory.
