NBA Rumors: Phoenix Suns Are In The Lead To Sign A Notable Free Agent

Bol Bol is an unrestricted free agent that the Phoenix Suns are allegedly interested in signing. The Suns and other teams are interested in the 7-foot-2 center after he just passed waivers.

His breakthrough year helped him gain widespread recognition from fans and clubs.

The Phoenix Suns could sign him, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Via Charania: “The Phoenix Suns are frontrunners to sign free agent Bol Bol, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Rival teams are expecting Bol to sign in near future with the Suns, who have deepened their roster this offseason.”

Bol Bol is coming off a great year in which he played in 70 games for the Orlando Magic and averaged 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist, and 1.2 blocks while shooting 54.6% from the floor.

However, the 23-year-old is now a free agent after the group released him this week.

After a strong start to his collegiate career at Oregon, Bol was originally expected to be a top overall choice. However, a foot injury derailed his only college season and destroyed his draft prospects.

He was ultimately chosen by the Nuggets in the middle of round 2, and it took him some time to truly make a name for himself in the league.

In his fourth NBA season, he finally found his home with the Orlando Magic.

He played 21.5 minutes per game and contributed significantly to the Magic rotation, tallying 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds.

In 123 regular season games, he has averaged 6.3 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 54.6% from the field.

In the current league, Bol Bol is a notable player who can put the ball in the basket with ease. The depth issue for the Suns, on the other hand, has been addressed this offseason. Bol might boost the productivity from the bench if Phoenix decides to sign him to a contract before the start of the new season.

The squad will get younger with his addition, which may be advantageous for the Suns since they will require a youthful comrade throughout the season.
