NBA Rumors: Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Could Potentially Be Traded To Knicks

Following their loss to the Miami Heat in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, the Milwaukee Bucks will have a protracted summer and with this, there’s a rumor that Knicks are eyeing Giannis Antetokounmpo!

NBA Rumors: Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Could Potentially Be Traded To Knicks

Major changes have already started to take place for the Milwaukee franchise, as it was widely reported yesterday that Mike Budenholzer, the team’s head coach, had been fired. This Friday, one NBA source claimed that the radical changes might not be over.

This morning on First Take, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst spoke about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s forthcoming decision over whether or not to extend his current deal with the Bucks as he has a contract extension coming up in September. Additionally, he made a suggestion about a prospective mega-trade involving none other than the New York Knicks.

“Is Giannis going to extend? I don’t know,” Windhorst said. “And that uncertainty is what the league is watching right now. The New York Knicks, for example, they got 97 percent of their attention on the Miami Heat. 3 percent of their attention on Milwaukee, what’s going on over there? What’s going on over there?”

“When the stars want out… they find a way to get out.”

“If you’re Giannis, you’re thinking about it. If it ain’t LA it’s New York.”

“So I would say that the Bucks might do everything they possibly can and exhaust themselves to keep this together, but I don’t know what’s going to happen, and that uncertainty is one of the biggest storylines in the NBA.”

Prior to losing in the first round of the playoffs to the eighth-seeded Heat, the Bucks managed to hold the No. 1 seed throughout the regular season.

In Game 1 against Miami, Antetokounmpo developed a back injury and was forced to sit out the following two games. He also blasted the coaching staff for not making any changes.

It is far too early to predict whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will actually be traded at this time. The Milwaukee Bucks player, who has a three-year contract with the team, is very devoted to it. Additionally, he doesn’t appear like a star who would demand to be traded by his team.

The New York Knicks are an intriguing option if the All-Star forward did alter his mind. They are on the right track, and one of the NBA’s best talents would be in the biggest market.
