NBA Reports: Knicks Have Been Trying To Make A Trade In For A Certain Type Of Star
The New York Knicks have significantly recovered over the previous year following a disastrous 2021–22 NBA season.
The Knicks were considered the favourites to defeat the Miami Heat in the second round, but they were ultimately defeated in six games because they were unable to find any more reliable scorers save Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett, and Julius Randle.
NBA Reports: Knicks Have Been Trying To Make A Trade In For A Certain Type Of Star
The Knicks were anticipated to spend this summer attempting to make a significant move because of their obvious need for an elite scorer and their abundance of young players and draft cash.
Knicks are finalizing trade to send F Obi Toppin to the Pacers for two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Deal gives Toppin an opportunity to play a more significant role in Indiana and stacks up more draft assets for New York. Deal can’t be completed until Thursday. pic.twitter.com/suJPu8dXyM

According to rumors, the Los Angeles Clippers are willing to consider trading one of its two greatest talents, raising the possibility of a Paul George move. The New York Knicks is one of several obvious places for the eight-time All-Star to go.
The Knicks reportedly spoke with the Clippers about the 33-year-old, but it’s unclear whether Los Angeles would be open to trading George.

George had a season-high scoring average of 20.6 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting 43.7% from the field. Despite being selected for his sixth All-Star game, he and his star teammate Kawhi Leonard have had trouble staying healthy in Los Angeles.
Despite being an eight-time All-Star, the 6-foot-8 George only has one year of his deal left, with a player option for 2024–25.
"The Knicks aren't winning the East with Paul George and Jalen Brunson, there was no reason to do that trade."

The three major decisions they have made so far have been to re-sign Josh Hart, trade away Obi Toppin, and add Donte DiVincenzo.
It turns out that they have been training on more than just those movements.
According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, the Knicks have reached out to many front offices across the league with trade packages centred on their youthful players in an effort to acquire a star still in the prime of their careers.
The Knicks are cooking something, and the league should be worried.

Only DeMar DeRozan, Zach Lavine, and Pascal Siakam appear to be available this summer if you go through the list of the top 20 scorers in the NBA from last year.
DeRozan is 33 years old, and Julius Randle already holds Siakam’s former position.
Lavine, who is 27 years old, just finished a season in which he averaged 24.8 points a contest. He may be a choice for the Knicks now that the Bulls are out of the running.
The Pascal Siakam trade market is heating up 🔥
Possible destinations for him include the Knicks, Nets, Clippers, and Trail Blazers 👀
