NBA Pressure Is Real: Luka Doncic’s Fiancee Anamaria Goltes Helped Him To Pull Out From It
In an infrequent conversation on his personal life, Dallas Mavericks player Luka Doncic gave an explanation of why he appreciates that his fiancée Anamaria Goltes “doesn’t like basketball.”
“I met her in Croatia in the same camp I go to now. I met her when we were 11 — I don’t know, something like that,” Doncic said in a recent installment of “Headliners with Rachel Nichols” on Showtime. “So I’m really happy to have her. It’s been great and she helps me a lot.

“It’s a lot of pressure outside. When I get home, it’s no basketball talk. She don’t like basketball, but she goes to every game.
“I mean, she likes it now, but she didn’t like it, which is good for me. I really like that.”
In addition to helping him deal with the demands of being an NBA player while representing his home nation of Slovenia, Doncic noted that his relationship with the 25-year-old Goltes “means a lot.”

Doncic replied, laughing, “No,” to Nichols’ question about whether or not he was a romantic.
Referring to Doncic’s extravagant proposal to the model that happened on July 7, 2023, in the vicinity of Bled Castle in Slovenia, the host made reference to it.
At the moment, the couple posted announcing their engagement to Instagram with the comment “7.7,” alluding to the day and Doncic’s jersey number.

It happened five months after Luka Doncic and Goltes revealed their daughter Gabriela’s birth on December 1, 2022, via an Instagram post.
Goltes earlier revealed that she first met Doncic “when we were 12 years old at the seaside in Croatia” in an Instagram Q&A.

The couple and their daughter reside in Dallas.
