NBA Injury Update: Some Big Stars Are Already Injured Before the Start of the Season

Some injuries occurred during the off-season game, which has once again sparked discussions about whether NBA players should participate in pro-am events like pickup games, summer leagues, or other recreational sports. Injury is always a possibility, especially while playing basketball.

Even though their practice facilities are the most regulated environments they are in, NBA players frequently suffer injuries there. We are not going to expect players to stay in a hermetically sealed bubble whenever they are not on their team’s playing court because they are at risk of slipping and falling in a damp place in their own kitchen.

Top NBA stars injured before the start of the season

Beginning with Rob Williams, we suddenly learned that he would require more surgery to clean up the damage done to his previously healed knee. Sean Deveney was the first to announce that Boston Celtics big Robert Williams III will miss 4-6 weeks while recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery.

Williams will probably miss Boston’s training camp and preseason due to the treatment, which is intended to clean up his knee and return him to the lineup early in the regular season.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has a Grade 2 MCL sprain, which we learned today. He has a Grade 2 left MCL sprain, which will prevent him from participating at the start of training camp. In two weeks, Gilgeous-Alexander will undergo a further evaluation.

The news regarding Lonzo Ball, though, may have been the most alarming thing we learned today. The point guard for the Chicago Bulls, Lonzo Ball, will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in Los Angeles on September 28. He will then be given another four to six weeks to recover. Since sustaining a meniscus tear and a bone bruise in the affected knee in January, Ball has been dealing with a chronic condition.
