NBA Championship: Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic Downplays The Win & The MVP Title

On Monday night, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets celebrated their first NBA championship victory as a team.

Jokic’s individual efforts in the Playoffs and Finals have been indescribably strong, even though the team’s effort was what ultimately got them over the finish line. After concluding the game on Monday with 28 points, 16 rebounds, and four assists, he was named the NBA Finals MVP.

Jokic, though, stands out for his selflessness, going above and above to acknowledge and thank his teammates even after winning MVP.

Dismissing individual stats in favor of team success, Jokic said, “My focus has never been those kinds of records or whatever the media are putting on me. I’m just trying to win a game and just play every game. Go step-by-step and play every game to win a game, as simple as that.”

“I am just happy we won the game. That’s why basketball is a fun sport. It’s a live thing. You cannot say, ‘This is going to happen’. There are so many factors. I’m just happy that we won the game. ”

He was able to accomplish it in front of the Denver fans in Game 5, and it was the ideal way to triumph. On Monday, the Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat 94-89 to win the series.

Jokic doesn’t appear phased by their historic triumph, despite everyone else’s jubilation. Jokic was questioned about his feelings towards being an NBA champion after the game. He announced that they had completed their assignment and could now relax after their hard labor in a cool, collected manner.

“No, I need to go home,” Jokic said when asked if he’s looking forward to the parade, which is set for Thursday.

He inhaled deeply and scratched his head, thinking of the days to come.

Jokic had a similar comment during his postgame interview with ESPN’s Lisa Salters, who asked how it felt to be an NBA champion.

“It’s good,” Jokic said. “The job is done and we can go home now.”

Without a doubt, Nikola Jokic has been the Denver Nuggets’ best player during the NBA Finals, helping the team win its first title.

Jokic’s services were crucial in helping the Nuggets achieve their present level of success. His influence on the group has been notable and merits consideration. With an average of 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game, Jokic has continued to post remarkable numbers.
