NBA 2k Snubs Michael Jordan and LeBron James for Michigan-Born Star
Beginning with the 1999–2000 season, NBA 2K established itself as a mainstay of basketball video games and ultimately rose to the top among fans of the NBA. Determining which player will be the game’s cover athlete each year is a crucial component and one that has grown to be a highly coveted distinction. LeBron James and Michael Jordan have dominated the covers for several years.
Allen Iverson served as the cover athlete for the first five iterations of the game, from the original NBA 2K through ESPN NBA Basketball (2K4). After them came Ben Wallace, Shaquille O’Neal, and several other superstars.

Therefore, the NBA 2k team has made the decision to take a new turn. They want to choose a budding star rather than an experienced athlete: Devin Booker.

NBA 2k select Devin Booker as its cover instead of LeBron James and Michael Jordan

Luka Doncic was selected last and with good reason. But this year is distinct. The 23rd will be the 2k edition, and in the NBA, that number has significant significance. So it appears that the star of the Phoenix Suns will be featured on the cover of the most recent NBA 2k game. LeBron and Michael Jordan, two of its finest players, both wore and excelled with the number 23.
Along with other outstanding talents of the game, the number 23 has been worn. However, 2K has chosen against doing so. There is still a potential that one of the superstars may appear on the legend edition cover. Whatever the reason, the snub is really strange. We’ll have to wait and see if 2k decides to release another version of Michael Jordan or LeBron James.
