NBA 2023: Top Five Power Forwards

The elite veterans Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant lead the current group of starting power forwards, but there are a ton of additional guys who may sneak into All-NBA teams at season’s end. Keep in mind that Julius Randle, the nominee for the Third Team the previous year, is rated 12th on this list.

In this category, young talents with strong pedigrees also tend to be more prevalent. Over the previous five rounds, nine of these players were selected with lottery choices, however, their outcomes varied. our has resulted in an intriguing blend of up-and-coming talent and seasoned professionals on our list.

NBA 2023: Top Five Power Forwards

5. Jaren Jackson Jr.

One of the league’s top rim protectors is the current Defensive Player of the Year. While he may have difficulties grabbing rebounds and getting into foul trouble, not many players are able to guard in space and swat everything like he does.

With a career-high 18.6 points per game last season and a noticeable improvement in his 3-point shooting over the previous several seasons, up to 35.5 percent, Jackson Jr. has continued to develop offensively.

4. Kawhi Leonard

Over the last two seasons, he has spent the most of his time at the four, and it is hard to separate him from the Clippers’ three-wing lineup. Leonard is still that guy from every angle. In the first round matchup with the Suns, we witnessed the return of the old Playoff Kawhi, who was dominating on both ends of the court and appeared poised to send Kevin Durant and Devin Booker home on his own without the help of Paul George.

Regretfully, Kawhi was out for a whole postseason for the third time in three years. Right now, that’s the only criticism. When Leonard is on the floor, we know what he is capable of. Any given night, he may be the best player in the league.

3. LeBron James

With all the mileage and physical strain he put on his body in Year 21, what he accomplished was ridiculous. He was also able to lead the Lakers into the conference finals despite his unclear foot condition.

LeBron can still get 27/7/7 without putting in the incredible two-way effort he always did, even though he may not be at his best right now. James’s postseason supremacy has undoubtedly suffered a little bit as a result of his personal health problems over the past several years. He is still regarded as one of the game’s most dreaded players, though.

2. Kevin Durant

In addition to his unparalleled scoring abilities, Durant has developed into a competent weak side rim protector and defender. During his tenure with the Nets and Suns, he averaged 29.1 points per game and scored from all over the court.

As he has matured, injuries have been more of an issue for him; in the last three seasons, he has averaged fewer than 46 games played.

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

With a career-high 31.1 points per game and third-place finish in the league with 11.8 rebounds per game, Giannis Antetokounmpo is coming off a season in which he finished fifth in the league. Because of his incredible defence, absurd talents, and unstoppable drives to the hoop, he’s constantly in the running for MVP.

He is the top two-player available for this role. a consistent DPOY contender who scored over 30 points per game on average the previous season. The lone guy back on a quick break with Giannis coming at them would be the most terrifying position for a defence, in my opinion. This season, Antetokounmpo will have Damian Lillard on his side, which should make his life much simpler.
