“MVP-Type Season”: Philadelphia 76ers Legend Heaps Massive Praise on Former ‘Out of Shape’ Joel Embiid
On Sunday night, the Utah Jazz gave Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers their best effort. Embiid had an outstanding night, tying his career-best with 59 points while adding 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 7 blocks. In a 105-98 home victory, the big guy shot 19 for 28 from the field and 20 for 24 from the foul line. He was really radiant that evening. Joel Embiid has again had a terrific season.
The 7-footer has excelled, scoring 32.3 points and 10.1 rebounds while the Philadelphia 76ers haven’t looked terrific thus far.
JJ Redick, a former Sixers guard, joined his show and discussed what Embiid did on the court while feeling bad for the Jazz that night.
JJ Redick praises Joel Embiid
“All that talk about Joel Embiid being out of shape, and all of a sudden, it looks like another MVP-type season for him,” Redick said.
Embiid was really fantastic, and the Sixers will likely value a performance like that from him. The next four days must be spent ensuring that he receives enough rest before they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. Although many NBA players have recently put on strong performances, nobody has been better than Embiid.

The 7-footer recorded 101 points, 21 rebounds, 14 assists, 3 steals, and 9 blocks during the previous two games. Joel Embiid has been a beast on both sides of the court, which is amazing given that he scored 59 points in a single game.
