Must watch college football games : 2022
Realignment, collective bargaining, and television contracts have all been hot subjects during the college football season, raising concerns about the sport’s future.
But we can put things on hold till the 2022 season starts.
Let’s discuss the games. This season college football fans have a lot to look forward to, including a great Week 1 game, rivalry matches, conference and non-conference contests, and top-five showdowns.
These are the 7 college football games fit that are awaited:
1) Best Week 1 game
Notre Dame at Ohio State (Sept. 3)
The Big Ten should Notre Dame join? For confirmation, wait until you see the TV ratings for this. With an offence led by Heisman Trophy front-runner C.J. Stroud, the Buckeyes are strong favourites. Marcus Freeman, a former linebacker for Ohio State, will coach the Irish in their opening regular-season contest. There have only been six meetings between these schools, and the Buckeyes won the last regular-season home-and-home series in 1995–96. The passion of that match will be witnessed in prime time by a new generation of supporters from both sides.
2) Best game from Week 2
Alabama at Texas (Sept. 10)
Large Noon start in Austin. Under second-year coach Steve Sarkisian, Nick Saban’s former offensive coordinator at Alabama, Texas, is given the spotlight. If Quinn Ewers is chosen to start, he will be the centre of attention. Can Alabama, which has Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young and All-American linebacker Will Anderson, win in four quarters despite the Longhorns’ potent offence? Since 1922, these teams have not faced off during a regular season.
3) The following non-conference game
Utah at Florida (Sept. 3)
At The Swamp, where Florida hasn’t dropped a home opener since 1989, the Utes are 2.5-point favourites. With playmakers Anthony Richardson and Cam Rising, there is quarterback intrigue as Billy Napier takes over as the Gators’ head coach. One of two important games for the Pac-12 on opening weekend is the contest between Oregon and Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game. A 17.5-point underdog, the Ducks. The CFP repercussions from Florida-Utah may last the entire season, and the game will probably be closer than expected.
This is why we love College Football. It doesn’t get any better than this.

4) The top neutral-site game
Arkansas vs. Texas A&M (Sept. 24)
The victor of this SEC West challenger clash will be predicted as the club to take its best shot at Alabama later in the season. “Jerry World” will once again host this storied rivalry. KJ Jefferson is one of the most intriguing quarterbacks in the FBS, and the Razorbacks last season ended a nine-game losing streak versus the Aggies. With the Aggies, Jimbo Fisher is 10-5 in August and September, but he hasn’t won every game until October (not counting 2020). Since 2014, there have been seven games in Arlington that have been decided by one point.
5) Best conference game in September
Georgia at South Carolina (Sept. 17)
You don’t buy it? The road test for the reigning national champion may not end until November. Spencer Rattler, an Oklahoma transfer quarterback, ups the interest, but the Gamecocks are coming off a challenging road game at Arkansas. The Bulldogs have a 3-3 record since 2010 at Williams-Brice Stadium, despite winning three straight games there.

6) Favourite rematch
Clemson at Notre Dame (Nov. 5)
Given that this historic rivalry in college football, a match that will take place in Lincoln, we could have chosen Oklahoma-Nebraska instead, but we prefer this contest. Since neither Clemson nor Notre Dame played last year, this is their first encounter since 2020. The Tigers reciprocated the favour by defeating the Irish 31-14 in the ACC championship game after the Irish defeated No. 1 Clemson 47-40 in the regular season that year. The first three meetings were top-five showdowns, and this one will have significance for the ACC playoffs and the CFP.
7) Top-10 matchup potential at its best
Notre Dame at USC (Nov. 26)
Let’s enjoy ourselves. Let’s say Notre Dame finishes the season with one defeat, and they fly to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to take on a USC squad that has one loss and is preparing for the Pac-12 title game. This competition needs Freeman and Lincoln Riley more than anything. The last time the Irish and Trojans faced off in a top-10 matchup came in 2006, the year following the “Bush Push” contest.
