MLB Star Shohei Ohtani Announced His Marriage News On Instagram, Who Is His Wife?

In a shocking revelation, baseball player Shohei Ohtani disclosed his marital status.

“The season is approaching but I would like to announce to everyone that I have gotten married,” On Thursday, Ohtani posted the following in Japanese on Instagram.

He made no attempt to identify his new wife when he called her a “Japanese woman”. He claimed more would be disclosed in an interview, most likely at the Los Angeles Dodgers spring training complex.

Over the years, there has been a great deal of curiosity about the private life of Japan’s most famous person, Ohtani, who is 29 years old. Absent controversies or tabloid stories, his emphasis and image have always been entirely baseball-related.

After signing a record-breaking $700 million over ten years contract, Ohtani left the Los Angeles Angels to join the Dodgers in December.

“I began a new chapter in my career with the Dodgers, but I also have started a new life with someone from my native country of Japan who is very special to me,” he wrote.

He requested that the press not “conduct unauthorized interviews.”

One of the images from the Instagram post featured his dog, “Dekopin,” also known as “Decoy.”

He wrote: “We hope the two of us – and one animal – will work together.”

In the late afternoon in Japan, the news quickly became the most important story on local television after breaking in the middle of the night in North America.

The Dodgers have become the de facto club in Japan, and local television often features stories about his training in the United States. As a result of his remarkable performance in North America, he has made himself into a national treasure.

The Dodgers will open the season in Seoul, South Korea, on March 20–21 with a two-game series against the San Diego Padres. Ohtani is training in Arizona for the Major League Baseball season.

Ohtani will not be pitching this season after undergoing surgery on his right elbow. He may play in the field, but for now, he will be employed as a designated hitter.

This week, he made his spring training debut against the Chicago White Sox and drove home two runs.

Shohei Ohtani has a career batting average of.274 and has hit 171 home runs, including 44 last season. In five seasons, he had a 38-19 record as a pitcher. He had elbow surgery in 2019, which kept him out of the season. His lifetime ERA is 3.01.

Due to his prowess as a two-way player, he has been compared to Babe Ruth. He was named the American League MVP in 2021 and 2023, and he was the American League Rookie of the Year in 2018.
