Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl Odds for 2022-23 NFL Season

The Minnesota Vikings‘ Super Bowl chances in 2022 reveal that the sharks are quite dubious about their ability to make the transition from 8-9 last season to championship contention. While the team has improved since the conclusion of 2021.

All the stories from the previous summer about how the team strengthened its defense through free agency and was seeking a younger offensive mind to help Kirk Cousins reach the next level can be found with just a quick Google search. Additionally, you can’t count on the oddsmakers to move the dial toward a Super Bowl when the general manager refers to it as a “competitive rebuild.”

Minnesota Vikings Analysis – What makes the Vikings contenders?

Even if you can convince yourself that things are very different from how they actually are, forcing the Vikings to demonstrate that they are a genuine contender is fair in the current situation. As usual, it’s important to note that preseason long shots occasionally succeed. Just ask the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022 or the San Francisco 49ers in 2019.

If you’re curious, the Saints, Patriots, Raiders, and Dolphins have Super Bowl chances that are most similar to those of the Vikings. Because of their underwhelming rookie class, the Minnesota defense was below average in 2021, but the Vikings took measures to strengthen their defense in the summer by selecting players in the 2022 draft.

However, Minnesota’s offensive is often not the issue, as seen by the Vikings’ past season rankings of 13th and 10th in total yards (363 YPG, 25 PPG), despite their outstanding shootout triumphs against the Packers (W, 34-31), Chargers (W, 27-20), and Steelers (W, 36-28).

While this imbalance makes Minnesota an intriguing underdog pick, it’s not a prescription for long-term success. The Vikings completed the year ranked 24th in points allowed and 30th in total yards (25.1 PPG, 384 YPG), which led to defeats in four games where their offense scored 26+ PTS.

Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl Odds & Futures 2022-2023

After 8 seasons, Minnesota’s Mike Zimmer era is finished. The Vikings are looking to return to the playoffs after missing out the previous year as a new era under Kevin O’Connell gets underway with an offense led by Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson. It was a dismal 2021 campaign, but are the Vikings a legitimate threat to make some noise in the NFC with a new coach and another year of Jefferson’s development?
