Minnesota Vikings’ Eric Kendricks Fantasy: LB NFL Defensive Data, Stats & Speculations 2022
Player Outlook
Eric Kendricks, a second-round selection in the 2015 draft, has advanced through the ranks to the pinnacle of the sport. The zenith was being named to the First-Team All-Pro back in 2019, after a fantastic season.
Unfortunately, the 2021 season was marred by injury issues from the previous year, and in light of the high bar Kendricks had set, the season ended up being quite disappointing. He ended his sixth NFL season at the age of 29 with a career-high 143 tackles, five sacks, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery.
Eric Kendricks is ranked 37th among all linebackers, according to PFF’s 2021 assessment. His permitted completion% significantly decreased from his All-Pro level.

Speed and the capacity to cover ground were key components of Eric Kendricks’ game. Perhaps he isn’t quite the 4.61 athlete he was coming out of UCLA as he approaches his 30th season.

Can he regain his All-Pro form in 2019, when PFF awarded Eric Kendricks an outstanding rating of 90.1, at the age of 30? That would need effort and perhaps be overly hopeful.

Playing on a vastly improved Vikings defense, returning to one of the greatest linebackers in the league is undoubtedly doable and something I think will happen. By this time next year, we could view Kendricks‘ poor performance in 2021 as an exception rather than a sign of things to come.
