Mike Trout Parents and Childhood: Everything You Need to Know
In the world of Major League Baseball, Mike Trout is one of the names that has stolen the show over the last few years with his gallant performances. The 29-year-old center outfield player has ensured that he makes it to the top of the list in MLB when it comes to performing at the highest level. Starting his professional career in 2012 for the Los Angeles Angels, Trout has become one of the most consistent performers that have earned him a huge contract of $430 million, which will see him staying with the Angels till he turns 39 years old.
When Mike was in high school, he used to feature for both the baseball and the basketball team. However, he finally chose the path that his father had walked on earlier in his career and became a baseball player, one of the finest in the world, to say the least. Mike’s father, Jeff Trout, was a professional baseball player who used to play for the University of Delaware. He was picked as a second baseman by the Minnesota Twins in 1983. However, a series of knee injuries cut his career short as Jeff retired from playing minor league baseball for four years.
Mike’s mother, Debbie Busonick Trout, is a proud mom of three children. Mike Trout has two siblings in the form of sister Teal and brother Tyler, who grew up in their home situated in Millville, New Jersey. In fact, Mike started his playing career at the Millville Senior High School. He started his career as a shortstop and a pitcher but was later shifted to play as an outfielder. It was definitely the right decision as he has now made his career with the Angels as one of the best center outfield players that the game has ever produced.
Mike Trout has been an exciting prospect since his childhood and has participated in both baseball and basketball. He earned three letters in baseball and two letters in basketball during his early career, which paved his way to become a regular player in both teams. While playing for his junior team, he threw a no-hitter against Egg Harbor Township High School, which showed how focused he was on his game since his childhood.
In his first year as a senior team member, Mike Trout went on to create a new record for New Jersey high school with 18 home runs. This was another sign that he was destined for greatness from a very early age and is currently one of the best players in Major League Baseball.
During the summer before his first senior year, Trout attended the Area Code Games in southern California and made heads turn with his performance. He even 6-for-11 against some of the best players in the country. Greg Morhardt, an Angels scout and a former colleague of Mike’s father, Jeff, said that Mike was the fastest and strongest 17-year-old he had ever seen.
