Michigan To Have Four Coaches To Act As Head Coach As Jim Harbaugh Is Suspended
Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of Michigan, will miss the first three games of the 2023 season due to a suspension.
Harbaugh had to choose who would be in charge of the team on game day despite the fact that he is permitted to take part in practices leading up to the games. Over the course of the three games, Michigan will actually have four different head coaches, starting with ECU.
Friendly reminder that Ryan Day has more bowl wins than Jim Harbaugh, won the B10 as many times, has a playoff win, and been to the natty…all that in half the time Jim has been at UM. 2 years might cloud your mind from remembering our coach is more accomplished. pic.twitter.com/50rpjYZdG8

The Wolverines will have one or two head coaches for each game against a notable easy nonconference schedule, in contrast to most schools which replace a suspended coach with a single top assistant as the interim head coach.
In light of his 3 Game Suspension, Jim Harbaugh has announced Coaching duties for those first 3 games.

Jesse Minter, the defensive coordinator, will lead the team against East Carolina, Jay Harbaugh, the special teams and safeties coach, will lead the team against UNLV in the first half, Mike Hart, the running backs coach and run game coordinator, will lead the team against UNLV in the second half, and Sherrone Moore, the offensive coordinator, will lead the team against Bowling Green.

Ben Herbert, the director of strength and conditioning, has acquired the position of associate head coach, and Jack Harbaugh, a former head coach at Western Michigan and Western Kentucky who is coming out of retirement, will take over as assistant head coach.
“I’m certain that all will be impressed with the four coaches’ ability to direct and manage the game,” Jim Harbaugh said in a statement. “It’s been well documented that we have a very talented coaching staff and I believe that all 10 assistant coaches will be head coaches in the near future. They are all capable of leading a team at an elite level.”
2-3 years ago rival fan bases were making jokes wanting Jim Harbaugh to get a lifetime contract 🤔
….now they’re hoping he leaves 🍔

For making what the NCAA called misleading claims as investigators looked into possible recruiting crimes that allegedly took place during the COVID-19 epidemic dead period, Michigan self-imposed a three-game punishment for Harbaugh earlier this week.
Jim Harbaugh naming his 84-year-old dad "Assistant Head Coach" during the 3-game suspension is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

That followed the collapse of a tentative deal for a four-game ban with the NCAA owing to obstacles in the discussions, according to Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports. The issue is currently its route to the NCAA’s disciplinary process, and a decision will probably be made after this season.
