Michael Vick Advices Tua Tagovailoa The Way For Better Outcomes: “Get a little bit bigger, Get stronger”

Former quarterback Michael Vick, a dual-threat offensive weapon who took a lot of hits, gave starter Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins some advice on Tagovailoa’s concerning injury history.

Michael Vick Advices Tua Tagovailoa The Way For Better Outcomes: “Get a little bit bigger, Get stronger”

In his first season as the Miami Dolphins‘ head coach, Tagovailoa passed for a career-high in yards (3,548) and touchdowns (25) as the team advanced to the postseason.

The fact that Tagovailoa missed a total of five starts this season made many wonder about his football future.

The 2022 NFL season was a rollercoaster for Tagovailoa. Although his efforts assisted the Dolphins in earning a playoff place, he was unable to contribute because of two real concussions.

Tagovailoa has been working out and attending judo courses in order to get ready for the next season, despite already seeming noticeably bigger than he did last year.

“I just think he’s got to bulk up a little bit,” Vick said about Tagovailoa during a recent appearance on the “It Needed To Be Said” podcast hosted by Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “Get a little bit bigger. Get stronger. As you grow into your man body, that’s what needs to happen. Ain’t nothing wrong with picking up another  10 pounds, 15 pounds. Don’t get hit. Don’t get knocked around.”

Tua has obviously worked hard to get stronger physically. He practised jiu-jitsu during the off-season “to learn how to fall” in a way that would help him prevent head injuries in the future. He also wore a newly created helmet during spring sessions that was intended to lessen concussions.

Let’s hope to see the best of healthy Tagovailoa this season.
