Miami Heats’ Young Fan Flies 4,000 Miles To See Jimmy Butler
A teenage Argentinean Miami Heat fan travelled more than 4,000 miles to Florida on Tuesday night to see Jimmy Butler play against the Boston Celtics. Butler, however, was forced to leave the game late because of back stiffness.
As the news spread on social media, the fan’s response was captured on tape. Some called on the Heat to assist the young man, while others criticised the league for allowing players to take breaks and spend the money of fans.
Miami Heats’ Young Fan Flies 4,000 Miles To See Jimmy Butler
Many people are upset by celebrities taking leisure days, as you can see if you browse NBA Twitter. Young fans who travel great distances to see their favourite players only to find them in street clothes on the sidelines can make the “load management” talk sound tragic at times when it is exaggerated.
i feel bad for this kid who wanted to see Jimmy Bulter n he didn't play tonight that is damn shame. what is point of wasting your money on a damn game n you know these nba players nowdays will load manage like mf. that is bad #NBATwitter

But that’s not where the narrative ends.
Jimmy Butler not playing was disheartening for the fan, but the Miami Heat ultimately delivered. The Heat gave the fan access to courtside seating, and he got to speak with some players. The squad also gave him a ball and a Butler shirt.
Butler has previously contacted the fan and his family, Jamal Crawford stated on the NBA on TNT Pregame Show. Crawford continued by saying that the Heat player was sorry and would like to do more to repay the young fan for his efforts to see him play in person.

The young fan interacted with Heat players including Gabe Vincent and received a customised Jimmy Butler jersey from the team as well as a basketball. Butler also had a surprise for the child, according to Crawford, though we don’t yet know what it is.
“I talked to Jimmy Butler,” Crawford said. “Obviously, he’s really really sick, and he couldn’t make it to the game. He’s watching the game on TNT and saw the kid and felt really bad. He has the kid’s information, and let’s just say the kid’s will be even happier.”

The kid, Felipe, is returning to Argentina with a memory to last a lifetime. A day that had a depressing beginning changed into what is thought to have been a dream day, with the Heat winning in the end.
