Jaylen Waddle, a wide receiver with the Miami Dolphins, became the team’s most reliable receiving threat as a rookie in 2016. When another player joins the same squad with equal or more skill, a player may occasionally get better. We could witness the scenario in Miami over the upcoming season.
The Alabama product crossed the 1,000 yard mark for the year despite only having one 100-yard game all season. Waddle was a standout as a rookie in 2021, but with the Dolphins acquiring Tyreek Hill through trade from Kansas City this season, his fantasy worth could suffer slightly.
Recall that Jaylen Waddle established himself in NFL history by surpassing Anquan Boldin’s rookie record of 102 receptions with 104 receptions for 1,015 yards and six touchdowns.

Jaylen Waddle had a terrific rookie season, rushing for more over 1,000 yards overall and averaging 63.4 yards per game. Waddle’s friendship with Tagovailoa in Alabama clearly paid dividends.

Tagovailoa continues to give Waddle the majority of his targets, and he adds another 1,000 yards. He may crack the top 10 fantasy receivers if the offence as a whole improves. Without Hill, Waddle would have been a close second-place receiver in every league; yet, with Hill, Waddle still has top-20 potential across all formats.

The Dolphins made some improvements in the summer with an eye toward the future, bolstering the offensive line and adding a couple running backs to help the passing game. All of these factors should greatly increase Waddle’s chances of having another fruitful season in Miami.
