Megan Lucky, the Famous US Open Beer Chug Girl Did Not Get The Chance To Show Her Chugging Talent This Year. She Recorded A Video Afterwards Explaining Why.

Megan Lucky, the infamous U.S. Open beer girl, returned to the storied tennis event in Queens, but she didn’t appear as frequently as in previous years.

On Sunday, Lucky said on Instagram that “whoever was in charge didn’t want me on the jumbotron this year.”

Due to her beer-chugging prowess, which went viral during the 2021 and 2022 U.S. Open tournaments, Lucky has garnered internet renown over the previous two years.

According to her social media posts, the 27-year-old New Jersey native attended the Open on Friday.

She didn’t appear on the video board this time, though.

“I don’t know their reasons, they didn’t share them with me, but I still had a lot of fun and I’m at peace with it,” Lucky said.

“I know the universe has a plan for me and like I said last time, beer girl is a part of me and maybe I’ll take her to another sport that wants her fun-loving energy soon, so look out for that.

“But as for now, this is not the end, it is only the beginning of a new era.”

When Lucky was caught on the Jumbotron during the tournament in 2021 swilling her Heineken, she had gained notoriety. Tennis is traditionally seen as a button-up sport, so the unconventional behavior soon gained attention on social media and even made it onto ESPN.

The US Open even posted about it on social media when she returned the following year, where she was once again featured on the video board and downed another drink.Lucky wrote early last week that beer girl will in fact travel to Queens, as she had previously informed The Post in August that she intended to come back for a third year running.
