Man Proposes To 76ers Dancer During Game: ‘She’s out of my league’

The City of Brotherly Love is experiencing an incredible holiday season with a couple. During a break in the 76ers’ game against the Clippers on Friday night in Philadelphia, a man got down on one knee and proposed to a dancer there. Yes, she replied. Many people commented in the video’s comments that he had outkicked his coverage when it eventually went viral, and he did not disagree.

“DEAR COMMENT SECTION,” wrote Chris Girard, who proposed to girlfriend Jackie Murtha with an assist from 76ers mascot Franklin the Dog, in a response to ESPN’s posting of the video. “I KNOW SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE. I AM JUST HAPPY TO BE HERE.”

In response to Bleacher Report, Girard wrote, “Thank god I’m funny” — and added a laughing emoji.

Murtha was equally enamoured of the situation.

In the early hours of Saturday, she said on her Instagram story, “This was absolutely the biggest surprise.” “I want to thank everyone who made this possible. This is not real life, I can’t believe it.

Murtha graduated with honours from University of the Arts in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Art in dance, according to the Amanda Page Dance Academy, where she is listed as an instructor. She also oversees the 76ers senior citizen dance team, the Old City Dancers.

This is the second year in a row that an NBA dancer proposal has resulted in a family-friendly holiday video.

When the rest of the Utah Jazz dance team was in sync for a routine that Danielle Bush had never practised last year, she believed she was living her worst nightmare until her boyfriend appeared from behind her to propose.
