Luke Voit Plays Minor League Wearing A Wild Uniform

Voit made the decision to forgo sleeves for today’s game between the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and Syracuse in order to avoid the heat. His sleeveless outfit, two orange wristbands, and several gold chains around his neck made up his upper torso.

He then hit a home run.

However, the Syracuse club was defeated 8-3 by the Yankees Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders.

Since signing a minor-league contract, the 32-year-old Voit has shown some power for Syracuse.

In 15 games, he has five home runs and 13 RBIs, but his average is only 217 (10-for-46).

The season has been difficult for Voit, who is attempting to return to the major leagues.

the former Bombers slugger was released on June 2 after signing a minor league contract with the Brewers in February. He led the American League with 22 home runs during the COVID-shortened 2020 season.

During his brief 22-game stay with the Brewers, the first baseman, who frequently serves as a designated hitter, didn’t hit a home run in 68 plate appearances.

The club chose to let Voit go despite his.548 OPS and 95 career home runs.
