LSU Women’s Basketball Coach Kim Mulkey Praises Angel Reese After The Drama.
LSU stars are winning it. In collegiate sports, recruiting elite athletes and game schedules are frequently equally difficult tasks.
Thanks to Coppin State University, LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey’s dream of bringing her star player, Angel Reese, back to West Baltimore is now a reality.
Mulkey noted the importance of playing in Reese’s hometown during a recent game versus the MEAC team, highlighting the difficulties of planning such an event.

Mulkey expressed her appreciation for CSU and the MEAC, saying, “We don’t hear a lot from this league because you got all the SWAC schools and then you got Southern right there in Baton Rouge.”
Reese, an exceptional player, got to show off her abilities in her community, which gave the game a more intimate feel.

She did, however, convey her thanks for the chance and the supportive reaction from the neighborhood, saying, “We were just grateful that we could work it out.”

Mulkey’s concept shows a dedication to cooperation and support within the collegiate sports community, even though its viability is still up in the air.
Mulkey acknowledged the influence Angel Reese had on her hometown after thinking back on the Coppin State game, saying, “Angel has come back to Baltimore and done a lot of wonderful things, and this means a great deal to her. And because it means a great deal to her, it means a great deal to us as a program. Her teammates get to see this. And it was just a good night.”

Mulkey looked ahead, tossing about the notion of holding a women’s basketball game in Tiger Stadium with a record-breaking crowd like those of Iowa and Nebraska, maybe against Southern.
Mulkey highlighted his excitement for the prospect despite the practical obstacles and mentioned his continued conversations with Dr. Tate at Southern.
