Los Angeles Rams Put Their Faith in the Current Management as They Extend Contracts of GM Les Snead and Coach Sean McVay

For the near future, the Los Angeles Rams are keeping the group intact. The Los Angeles Rams extended Sean McVay’s contract earlier this summer, guaranteeing his position as the team’s head coach for the foreseeable future.

They reached an agreement with general manager Les Snead on Thursday, shortly before the 2022 season got underway. After an ESPN feature by Seth Wickersham reported that the Rams head coach had earned a raise over the summer, Sean McVay revealed last month during training camp that he had signed a contract extension.

Given that the two have been associated since McVay’s hiring in 2017, he stated at the time that he was anticipating the team to announce his new contract at the same time as General Manager Les Snead.

Snead and McVay’s contracts with the Rams were extended through the 2026 season, the team announced on Thursday. This comes as Los Angeles prepares to face Buffalo in the first game of their Super Bowl title defense.

“We have been engineering a special team, organization and culture at the Rams, and we have been doing it with special people,” said Snead in a statement.

“I look forward to continuing our mission and I’m especially appreciative of Stan for giving us the opportunity to do so.”

What’s ahead for Snead and McVay?

Since 2012, Snead has served as the team’s general manager. In 2019, following the Rams’ first Super Bowl trip under his leadership, he extended his contract. Over the years, Los Angeles was able to acquire talents like Jalen Ramsey, Matthew Stafford, Brandin Cooks, Marcus Peters, Von Miller, and Odell Beckham Jr. because of his aggressive roster-building plan.

The Rams’ window for the Super Bowl remains wide open now that Snead and McVay are committed for years to come – as long as Aaron Donald, Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Ramsey are in the mix.
