‘Little Bit More Fire than Max Holloway’- Khabib Nurmagomedov Makes a Pick for UFC 276’s Alexander Volkanovski vs Max Holloway
Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomodov provided his honest assessment for the co-main event of UFC 276 that goes down this Saturday in Las Vegas. Alexander ‘The Great’ Volkanovski looks to seal his trilogy against Max Holloway after going 2-0 against the former champion.
Volkanovski had an impressive showing at UFC 273 when he defeated ‘The Korean Zombie’ in rather decisive fashion and put an emphatic stamp on his name as the champion of the division. Moreover, the featherweight division is one of the most competitive weight classes on the roster, and Volkanovski’s reign is aging like fine wine.

Max Holloway has been a constant presence in the division and it’s clear that he’s the straight edge number featherweight fighter on the planet. Despite suffering setbacks against Volkanovski in the past, he’s been able to put together impressive wins against other formidable opponents and claw his way back.
Despite his resilience, Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed that he’s not going to be siding with Max Holloway to win the third fight. Per Nurmagomedov, his decision wasn’t personal, however, he found that Alexander Volkanovski had walked through the fire more times in his career up to this point. It’s for the reason that Nurmagomedov chose Alexander ‘The Great’ to come out on top in the end.
“About Holloway-Volkanovski, I must say I’m really impressed with Volkanovski about his last couple of performances,” Nurmagomedov told the UFC. “I like Max Holloway. I like him. This is nothing personal, but I think Volkanovski’s going to defend his title. It’s a question: how? Who knows. But I see he (stays busier), fights all the time, experience – maybe experience. Like a little bit more fire. I feel he has a little bit more fire than Max Holloway.” [h/t mmajunkie.com]
If Alexander Volkanovski is successful in defeating Max Holloway for the third time, it will be hard to deny him as the best featherweight fighter of all time. He’s seemingly growing in skill and confidence and it’s going to be difficult to top his elevating skillset.
