List Of College Football Stars Skipping Bowl Games For 2023 NFL Draft
Players that skip bowl games in order to enter the NFL Draft seem to be added to the list every year.
The dangers of playing the additional game are known to the players. It still carries a risk of injury that can endanger their prospects in the sport.
But the teams who lose such stars do benefit from the decisions. Teams get the chance to observe what the next players up at each position might have to offer in the following season when the NFL-bound starters choose to sit and focus on the future.

It’s an unfortunate turn of events but I regret to inform everyone that the Baltimore Ravens players will be skipping out on the Pro Bowl this year due to prior obligations in Glendale, Arizona.

Joey Porter Jr., a cornerback for Penn State, will enter the NFL draft in 2023 rather than play in the Nittany Lions’ bowl game. Porter announced the news on social media on Thursday.
Porter, a commanding presence at the corner, has been among the best shutdown players in the country this season. Porter, a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, plays with the same self-assurance, physicality, and competitiveness that made his father a Pro Bowl linebacker famous.
This is the only scenario in which I would ever criticize a player for skipping a bowl game to protect himself from injury. His team has a shot at a National Championship. https://t.co/wWNZLv3CtV

Porter ought to be viewed as a first-round lock and have a good chance of going first overall in the cornerback category in the upcoming draft.
According to the OU Daily, four Oklahoma players have opted out of the Cheez-It Bowl against Florida State. Running back Eric Gray, who rushed 213 times for 1,366 yards and 11 touchdowns; defensive lineman Jalen Redmond, who had four sacks and 10 tackles for loss in his redshirt junior year; and offensive tackles Anton Harrison and Wanya Morris will each sit out.
