Lions QB Jared Goff Calls Out Ryan Fitzpatrick During Prime’s Postgame Show

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff evidently hears everything said about him and decided to take issue with one specific criticism following Thursday night’s victory against the Green Bay Packers.

Following the game, the quarterback appeared on the Amazon postgame program and spoke with Ryan Fitzpatrick, one of the show’s experts. Before the game, Goff heard Fitzpatrick call him a “poor man’s Matt Ryan” and fired a jab at the former quarterback.

“I thought I played better throughout the rest of the game,” Goff stated on Prime’s postgame broadcast. “I hope it’s up to your standards.

“I didn’t know it was a poor man’s anything, but, I heard that.”

The NFL on Prime crew burst out laughing at that point.

“Spicy!” Richard Sherman — the former NFL cornerback, who joined Amazon as an analyst in June 2022 — said while slapping the desk.

Fitzpatrick, who was a quarterback for 17 years before joining Prime as an analyst, then mentioned former lineman Andrew Whitworth.

“I didn’t do it!” Whitworth fired back. “It wasn’t me!”

But it was all in good humor.

“Matt Ryan is a pretty good player too,” Fitzpatrick said, to which Goff agreed.

“He’s a hell of a player,” remarked Goff. “I’m giving you a hard time, I appreciate it man.”

The discussion finished on a positive note, with the entire group laughing together.

Ryan, a former NFL MVP, currently works as a CBS commentator.

Goff completed 19-of-28 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Lions’ 34-20 victory over the Packers.

The Pro Bowl quarterback completed 19-of-28 throws for 210 yards, a touchdown, an interception, and an 86.9 passing rating.

On Oct. 8, the Lions will play the Panthers.
