“Let the Big Boys Do What They Do at a High Level”- Aljamain Sterling Slams ‘Big Stupid’ John McCarthy for Believing Petr Yan Won the Rematch
Aljamain Sterling defended his belt for the first time at UFC 273 with an impressive performance against Petr Yan. Almost a year from their first fight, Sterling silenced a lot of his critics by beating Yan who was a heavy favorite going into the fight.
Ever since their first fight, Sterling has been at the receiving end of jokes, memes, and constant trolling from fans as well as a few fighters in the UFC. Ever since his win, Sterling has made it a point to hit out at everyone who counted him out and even trolled him during the time he was away from the action.
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Sterling spoke out against veteran MMA referee John McCarthy who scored the fight for Yan. He said, “So for people who were like there is absolutely no way you can score that round big stupid John McCarthy. Dude go get a clue, I don’t know how this guy was ever the blueprint standard of MMA that guy sucks. His opinions stink and sucks and he just says shit…. I think he had an MMA school, I think he had fighters, which one of them ever did anything? What did his school ever do? Because clearly this guy is so great right?.”
‘Funkmaster’ continued, “What has he ever accomplished other than tyring to judge people and being completely wrong about the scoring criteria of the fight… So please just be quiet and let the big boys do what they do at a high level, something that you have never been able to do. Relax there buddy.”
