Legendary Quarterback Joe Namath Willing to Unretire His #12 Jersey to Lure Aaron Rodgers to the Jets

This season has been extremely underwhelming for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. They missed out on a playoff berth thanks to a loss against the Detroit Lions in the last week of the 2022 NFL regular season. Naturally, after missing out on the playoffs, every team goes through a thorough inspection from within to see what can be changed to make sure the same thing does not happen next year, and the Green Bay Packers are no exception to that rule.

For the Packers, their main problem this season was the inexperienced wide receivers who were not able to fully utilize the service being provided to them by Aaron Rodgers. The four-time league MVP also made sure to publicly criticize the new wide receivers and asked them to level up their game.

Aaron Rodgers to move away from the Green Bay Packers?

In his first interview after the loss, Rodgers said that he still had a lot in him and could see him winning another MVP award if the conditions were right. However, he also mentioned that this could be at Green Bay Packers or another team altogether.

It appears as though the New York Jets could be one such option as Jets legendary quarterback Joe Namath is willing to make a huge sacrifice to lure Rodgers to the Jets

In a recent interview, Namath said, “I hope it can come true but it’s farfetched. I know Mr. Johnson’s trying to get a quarterback. If there’s a way he can get Rodgers, I’m a big Rodgers fan, and I noticed that he wears number 12 of course. Man, if we get him, is he still going to wearing number 12? Because that number was retired years ago.”

Namath continued, “I’d sure love Aaron Rodgers if he’s there. Yeah, I want him to wear his number. We established ourselves and we’ve got a real respect for our numbers, and Aaron Rodgers, God almighty, yeah! It’d be great to have him in New York.”
