Legend Julio Cesar Chavez Is Worried About His Son But Still Is Helpless
His wife Frida Chavez called the police on October 24, 2023, believing he had taken too many drugs. Following California’s 5150 legislation, responders determined that Chavez Jr. presented a risk to himself or others and that he required mental care for a maximum of 72 hours.

If someone is judged to be a threat, the law permits authorities, such as police officers and physicians, to detain them for examination, assessment, and crisis intervention. Chavez Jr.’s family, particularly his father Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., has expressed concern about his health and well-being despite his successful boxing career.
Greetings and God’s blessings for a good new year to everyone in Mexico. He began his message for 2024 by saying, “Regarding my son Julio, the truth about everything he has said, that he keeps offending, hurting his wife and me, and all the bullshit he says.”

The “Son of the Legend’s” emotional and mental state is unclear, but JC Chavez does take note of his son’s recent remarks, which is why he sent the message asking him to stop talking foolishness and assuring him that he feels impeded from assisting Jr. by US regulations.
“Many people ask me why I don’t help him. The laws in the United States are very different and if I go after him, they can put me in jail and it is like a kidnapping, so the only thing I want to say is that I wish you all a happy new year”, added Julio Cesar Chavez, who finished his message with an emotional message, although he reiterated his hope that his son will come to his senses: “tell my son Julio that I love him very much. God bless you, son. May God grant you a ray of light and stop talking so much bullshit, please”.
Tracked down Julio Cesar Chavez in Las Vegas a few months ago and asked him some questions (through a translator, obvs).
