LeBron James’ Lakers Have a New Hope Thanks to Oklahoma City Thunder’s Absurd Win vs Kawhi Leonard-Less Clippers
After the Oklahoma City Thunder won for the first time in four attempts, there was no party. On Tuesday night, the Thunder overcame the undermanned Los Angeles Clippers 108-94 thanks to Shai Gilgeous Alexander’s 33 points. The Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James should have optimism because of this. The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 108-94 on Tuesday night at home despite shooting horribly from beyond the arc.
This was the Thunder’s first win of the 2022–23 NBA season. As the youthful roster develops, Oklahoma City coach Mark Daigneault claimed that the players are more focused on the process than the final product. He said that in terms of feedback, his crew is “robotic.”
Oklahoma are now top five in the lowest 3-point shooting % to win a game, should give LeBron James hope to win
The Thunder victory currently ranks in the top five in NBA history for the lowest 3-point shooting % by a winning team, per ESPN Stats & Info.
It was the largest margin of victory (+14) in a game where the winning team shot below 15% from 3-point.

Two of the Clippers’ top talents were absent. Paul George missed the game due to sickness, and Kawhi Leonard sat out to rest his right knee. Marcus Morris, another starter, was absent due to personal obligations. By limiting the Clippers to 42% shooting, Oklahoma City profited from the situation.
The Oklahoma City Thunder hit 4/30 threes and they still blew out the Clippers. That's how bad the Clipper offense has been.

Only four of the Thunder’s 30 shots from beyond the arc were successful as a team. The worst offender of them all was Luguentz Dort, who shot 0 for 6 from beyond the arc.
Tre Mann also missed six 3-point attempts, but he also made a few that went in. The Oklahoma City bench shot poorly as well. In fact, Thunder’s relievers were 0 for 10 overall on their attempts from outside the paint.
