LeBron James Injured: Exits Lakers vs Clippers Game After Soreness In Left Foot
LeBron James’s history with the Los Angeles Lakers has unfortunately included him being sidelined by a string of ailments, which is rather unusual to this point in his career trajectory. Every season aside from Los Angeles’ 2019–20 championship run, he has been affected by serious illnesses.
James is already injured this season, but he’s trying everything he can to play through it. Despite being on what appears to be among the worst NBA teams, the team’s performance may be affected by a difficult early schedule.
LeBron James said his left groin injury, a “spasm or strain” against the Clippers, wasn’t as bad as the one that kept him out a month in 2018-19. But all the same, the already struggling Lakers are bracing for their leading scorer to possibly miss time: https://t.co/cNH3L7FXWi

With less than six minutes left, James left the floor and did not come back. In 32 minutes, he finished with a game-high 30 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
LeBron James, 37, hasn’t scored as many points a game since his debut season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003–04 when he averaged 24.9 points. In 2022–2023, he is also contributing 6.9 assists and 8.8 rebounds.
James sat out the Lakers’ road defeat to the Utah Jazz on Monday for the first time this season due to discomfort in his left foot before playing again on Wednesday.

James is a four-time NBA champion and an 18-time All-Star. He also won NBA Finals MVP in each of those campaigns.
With their fourth straight defeat, the Lakers’ record dropped to 2-9, giving them the second-worst mark in the league. The only team with a worse record is Houston (2-10).

LeBron James seemed to be pretty frank about the state of the sore foot that has been pestering him throughout the start of the 2022-23 season, suggesting that he may, at long last, be taking things a little bit easier than he has in years past:
"I feel good. besides the injury, surely I just want to play. When I landed, I felt a little spasm or strain in my groin."

“Yeah, rest is the only way, and that’s it. That’s what I’ve been told. Rest is the only way to help it, which I don’t have [time to do]. Which I don’t have. Day-by-day-by-day. I’ll be in the lineup tonight… When it comes about, [I] kind of just [determine] however I’m feeling that day, how’s my foot feeling. Just try to manage my health, which is most important. Just take it day-by-day when it comes to the back-to-backs.”
