Lakers LeBron James’ Tweet Responding To Dillon Brooks Is Going Viral

Throughout the series, James maintained his composure and remained unresponsive to Brooks’ barrage of insults despite his best efforts to get the four-time MVP’s attention. However, James sent out a tweet the day after the Grizzlies’ season came to an end that seemed appropriate given the circumstances, channelling some Jay Z lyrics.

James tried to stay out of the argument with Brooks, who referred to him as “old” and said he wouldn’t respect him until he had a 40-point margin over him. Although Brooks averaged 10.5 points per game over the course of the series, he only managed to shoot a dismal 31.2% from the field and 23.8% from beyond the arc. After the defeat, he likewise avoided speaking with the media.

Lakers LeBron James’ Tweet Responding To Dillon Brooks Is Going Viral

After the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, LeBron James had a lot to say.

“Unlike you little […] I’m a grown ass man. Big shoes to fill,” James wrote on Twitter. “Grown ass pants. Prolly hustled with your pops, go ask your parents.”

“Its apparent you’re staring at a legend Who, put a few little […] in they place before trying to eat without saying they grace before!” LeBron added.

“If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, HELP THE BEAR,” James continued.

While addressing the media, James avoided addressing the slurs, but Anthony Davis made it clear that they intended to remain silent.

“Obviously, that’s how a lot of times guys kind of get themselves going. When guys are constantly talking and you don’t say nothing back … they’re going to eventually stop,” Davis said on Friday after the win. “People are going to talk. We’ve had some trash talk on the court in the series, but all the talk in the media and all that stuff, we just go out and let our game talk and play basketball. We try not to get in a back-and-forth with guys.”

Given that Dillon Brooks had trashed LeBron during the whole series, it is logical to presume that LeBron was speaking to him.

“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a 7-game series. There is a legacy. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the first round. It’ll test us good,” Brooks said before the series.

“I don’t care, he’s old,” Brooks said of 38-year-old James after Game 2. “I poke bears. I don’t respect anyone until they come and give me 40 [points].
