Lakers’ LeBron James Reacts to Anthony Davis’ Injury: “Sickening to See AD Go Down”
Anthony Davis received an MRI on Thursday after sustaining what seemed to be an ankle injury in the first half of Wednesday’s game. The MRI indicated that he has a mid-foot sprain. Davis’ injury has surely disappointed a lot of Lakers fans as well as LeBron James. James, however, reacted to Davis’ injury.
The Lakers indicated that he would be re-evaluated in four weeks, which means he may not even return at that time, which is expected to be around March 17.
The Los Angeles Lakers overcame an injury to Anthony Davis and recovered from a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Utah Jazz 106-101. King James scored 15 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter. He expressed his frustration, just like every other Lakers fan, and said that it is sickening to see Davis go down.
LeBron James expresses frustration at Davis’s injury
“Obviously it’s sickening to see AD go down in that fashion,” LeBron James said.
“Hope he’s fine. Obviously, I know he’s not great but obviously, his health is the most important for him individually and for our ball club. I’ve seen it too many times, obviously. I just wish him the best.”

Although Davis’ injury occurred shortly before the All-Star break, reducing the number of games he would otherwise miss, it is still a devastating blow that will cost him at least 11 of the team’s last 24 games.
The average time lost for nondescript midfoot sprains resulting in time lost is 12 games (~28 days) but the Lakers are already saying he will be miss four weeks before being reevaluated. I wouldn't be surprised if this stretches out longer.

For the second year in a straight, Davis and the Lakers will be racing against the clock to get him healthy and ready for the postseason, regardless of the Lakers’ current status. However, unlike last season, the Lakers have rarely demonstrated a sustained ability to compete at a high level.
The Lakers’ victory over the Jazz, which snapped a three-game losing run, came with some bad news for the losers. In the second quarter, Anthony Davis departed the game due to an ankle injury.
