LA Rams Jalen Ramsey Yet Again Picks A Fight With 49ers Robbie Gould

Following their 31-14 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers revived one of the NFL’s strangest rivalries between Jalen Ramsey and Robbie Gould.

Week 8 once again demonstrated the acrimony between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams. Robbie Gould, a seasoned kicker for the 49ers, and Jalen Ramsey, an All-Pro cornerback for the Rams, came very near to fighting during their game at the SoFi Stadium. On the field, though, Gould and Ramsey had previously gotten into a fight.

Viewers of Sunday’s game were shown a video of Ramsey arguing with a teammate on the sidelines after a replay of the incident.

That outside of the sport, it might seem strange that Ramsey, a capable, combative, and trash-talking cornerback, would try to discredit Gould, a 39-year-old kicker, but the two have a history.

Both players were seen on tape shoving one another at the NFC Championship game in Los Angeles last year. Week 8 saw Ramsey push Gould twice after kicking the ball.

As if that wasn’t enough. After a typical extra point play in the second half of the game, Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey collided with Niners kicker Robbie Gould. It wasn’t a full-speed charge, and it wasn’t a blatantly malicious bump; instead, it was the kind of bump that players occasionally utilise as a macho display in which they are aware that someone is blocking their path but refuse to move on their behalf.

Regardless of how strong the bump was, Gould did not like it and began yelling at Ramsey as the cornerback moved towards the sideline, acting as if nothing had happened. Then, as Ramsey shoved Gould aside, a representative intervened to divide the two.

Following San Francisco’s 31 -14 win over Los Angeles, Gould spoke to NBC Sports Bay Area about his confrontation with Jalen Ramsey.

Here’s what Gould said: “It’s just a rivalry game. I think everyone understands the significance of it. I think he asked me for my jersey for Christmas, probably. That’s probably the easiest thing to say in those situations. But we won, and just move on to the next.”

It should go without saying that fans of the Niners should be aware of the fact that their kicker is more than willing to discuss a league superstar if he feels mistreated on the field.

The most crucial thing to keep in mind here, as it was in January, is that one of the league’s fiercest defenders appears to still be at conflict with a kicker.
