Know Why Olivia Dunne Was Shocked During Her SI Interview
After discovering that she has more Instagram followers than swimming great Michael Phelps, Olivia Dunne was in a state of shock.
Olivia Dunne is one of the highest-valued collegiate athletes, with a worth of $3.1 million, because of her skills in gymnastics and online presence.
Michael Phelps is hailed as the greatest Olympian of all time, on the other hand. The unmatched supremacy he demonstrated throughout his career is evidenced by the 33 medals from world championships and the 23 gold medals from the Olympics.

The retired swimmer, though, is one million behind Olivia Dunne in terms of Instagram followers. Phelps and Dunne each have 3.4 and 4.4 million followers, respectively, on the social networking network.
Dunne was asked to predict who had more Instagram followers—her or Michael Phelps—during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated. With assurance, she responded:
“Michael Phelps. For sure.”
Dunne was mistaken, though, as it turned out. She was astonished beyond belief to discover that she leads the swimming legend in this statistic.
“No way, there’s no way. That’s crazy,” she said.
In addition to living a great athletic life and being a social media celebrity, Olivia Dunne frequently faces online criticism. The gymnast is frequently made fun of for both her aesthetic preferences and gymnastic prowess. She typically chooses to disregard the criticism and concentrate on herself.

When Olivia Dunne participated in an interview with Elle in July, she discussed how she handles criticism. The gymnast from LSU said:
“To see a woman winning? People sometimes have a lot to say,” Olivia Dunne said.
Dunne brought up the reality that women, especially successful women, tend to experience much more abuse on social media than males. She also thinks that continuing to do what you enjoy is the best way to handle criticism.
Olivia Said:
“I don’t want to say ‘F you’, but the best way to get that to stop is to keep being successful at what you’re doing, because your success and love for what you do will outshine any of that”
She also introduced The Livvy Fund, which will show athletes how to build brands out of their talents, in order to inspire other female athletes.
