Know about an online fight between the influencer Paige Spiranac and Bandwagon fans you don’t want to miss

Bandwagon supporters are not among the topics on which Paige Spiranac has strong opinions.

Anyone who is familiar with sports understands that bandwagon supporters are the worst. They want to wait until they can see the writing on the wall that a championship is possible and then grab on, rather than slogging through the muck and fighting in the trenches for years with their team.

When things start to go wrong, they leave. Anyone who takes oneself seriously ought to avoid this Judas mentality.

Except if you’re Paige Spiranac, that is.

In terms of athletics, Paige Spiranac picks the wrong hill to die on.

Let’s just say I secretly thought bandwagon supporters weren’t all that important. I don’t think that, but let’s say I do for the purposes of the discussion.

What wouldn’t I do, do you know? Make the internet aware of that viewpoint. That’s what everyone’s favorite golfer turned Instagram celebrity did, in fact.

“How do we balance bringing in new people with calling them bandwagon fans? I’m no angel here. I’ve publicly called people out for being a bandwagon fan, but as I mature and get older, I realize that is just stupid. And, I get it. It’s extremely frustrating to see new people become fans of your team when they’re successful when you have been there for your team through all of the highs, and especially all the lows. But, remember, two is always better than one. The more the merrier,” Spiranac claimed in her Twitter video.

Spiranac is utterly mistaken about this

Once more, I believe Spiranac makes many excellent points online. Not that her opinions are all horrible, mind you. She did not rise to fame on the internet by upsetting people.

In no way! Her advice videos and writing in general are quite well-liked. She’d be hard-pressed to be more mistaken about this, though. She is wholly mistaken.

The worst people to follow a bandwagon. The worst possible. They ought to be identified, exposed, excluded from polite society, and never permitted at social gatherings when a game is taking place.

Don’t start cheering for the Detroit Lions when they eventually win the Super Bowl if you weren’t there when they lost a game. Since Luke Fickell is in command of the football program, you’d better not be there if you didn’t support the Wisconsin Badgers during the challenging years.

The game of being a sports fan is all or nothing. Spiranac obviously doesn’t comprehend that. It is ingrained in your DNA. It cannot be contested. Your squads are ready once you’ve set them.

I shall now make one exception. You are free to go wild with them if you move to a new place that offers a sport you didn’t play growing up (think MLS or NHL). Anything less than that must not be tolerated.

Although Paige Spiranac frequently gets things right, she is completely mistaken in this case. Improve, Paige!
