Before Monday’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Miami Heat player Kevin Love had a valid reason for missing the team aircraft to Denver.

The All-Star center gave birth to a child on Saturday with the help of his wife, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Bock.

After that, Love flew to Denver by himself and arrived in time for the Heat’s Sunday media availability, during which he reported that Bock and the couple’s new baby are doing well.

“Definitely need to get some rest now, get some sleep,” Love said. “Everybody’s happy and healthy.”

On Monday in Mile High City, where the Nuggets presently hold a commanding 3-1 lead, Love will suit up for a crucial Game 5.

The Canadian model has not yet made any remarks in the media regarding the birth of their baby.

In June 2022, Love and Bock exchanged vows in a ceremony that was “Great Gatsby”-inspired at the New York Public Library.

In January 2021, the day after Bock turned 33, Love asked her to marry him.

Five years before, the rather discreet couple had worked with the same photographer in New York and had met while on set.

After agreeing to a contract buyout with the Cavaliers, Kevin Love signed with the Heat in February.

In the 2023 Finals, the seasoned forward is averaging 8.0 points and 5.3 rebounds.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Heat guard Tyler Herro, who was upgraded to doubtful on Monday, is anticipated to try to participate in Game 5.

Due to a broken right hand, he suffered in Game 1 of the Heat’s first-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks in April, Herro has been sidelined.
