Kevin Durant Wishes To Be A Part Of Washington Commanders New Ownership Group

Although the Washington Commanders aren’t even officially up for sale yet, it seems like buyers are already stacking up. It seems like Kevin Durant wants to diversify his business interests. JAY-Z and Jeff Bezos, two billionaire businessmen, reportedly wanted to purchase the Washington Commanders just last week.

The Brooklyn Nets player has been keeping up with the NFL team’s activities and the rumoured sale of Dan Snyder. The team has hired Bank of America Securities to “examine potential transactions involving the team,” Snyder and his wife revealed last week. Durant recently discussed his passion for sports in an interview with ESPN.

“In a perfect world, I would be a part of it. I would love to do it. I would love to give a little bit of my money to be a part of the Commanders, but we’ll see. Hopefully, it’s somebody nice. I heard [Amazon CEO Jeff] Bezos and JAY-Z, but you never know.”

Durant, who was born and reared in the Washington, D.C., area, expressed amazement at Snyder’s assertion.

“I mean, how many years has he had it now, 20 or so? I’ve probably never known an owner like him. But that team will be one where everyone will want to play in the league. Since it’s one of the most profitable teams in sports, I’m sure there will be a lot of interested parties, “said Kevin Durant.

He also wants to be a part of the team’s revival since he thinks they are a “sleeping giant” because, despite being one of the most storied and adored teams in the NFL, they have had more losing seasons than playoff appearances since the Snyders took charge.

“Our market is incredible. There’s a lot of support in D.C., a lot of money in D.C. to win. I feel like we drafted well the last two years,” Kevin Durant said. “I know we’ve had some losing seasons, but it’s starting to get better for us. I’m excited as a fan. I’m excited about the sale. I’m excited to see who they bring in and who they sell.” the team and see how we move forward with it.”

Longtime Commanders supporter Durant recently gifted Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin his jersey at a Nets game. According to Durant, there looks to be substantial support in Washington, D.C., and there is “a lot of money in D.C. to be made.” KD has joined the ownership of a pickleball team and currently holds a 5% investment in the Major League Soccer team Philadelphia Unions.

According to Durant, Washington is the NFL’s “sleeping giant” and has the youthful components in place to start winning games on a regular basis.
